Mizuno Wave Run 2011

I signed up for this using U Sports. So, I paid $33 for this event.
Left home at 5:40am. Took bus 87 and changed to bus 8 at Bedok Interchange. On return, took bus 5 and changed to bus 87 at Kaki Bukit Ave 1. Doable, so i don't mind joining this event in future years. Unlike ECP which I won't join if it is Sunday morning event. Saturday afternoon for ECP is ok.

Race experience was ok. Met Jacq along the route and just before the finishing, dressed in 2XU from top to bottom. She was very consistent jogger although she said she was still jet-lagged from her return from Europe.

Good
* Not stopping for traffic (from condo residents) along the route (happened to me before)
* 3 water points is sufficient But.... see 'Bad' below
* Cold 100Plus at 3rd water point.
* Finisher Tee is nice. Mizuno Running Vest + T-shirt is quite good for a 10k event.
* Finisher medal - it's nice colour but not as impressive in weight & make as other events.
* Place is quite bus accessible.

Bad
* 2.5km and 5km water points, I stopped for 100Plus and gave up. Long queue, people cutting to take w/o queue, therefore only took plain water.
* 5km water point then ran out of 100 Plus. The volunteers were frantic shouting and asking people to get from next table (which was only plain water)
* Lack of Distance marker. First few km, follow the Park distance marker (Little blue stones on the right hand side of the trail) for 1st 3km.
* My Endomondo measured 10.51km. Subtract 100m (since I started it where I was queuing), it was 10.41km. The bad is I nearly punctured after re-starting my jog at 9km mark (per Endomondo).
* The queuing for (1) Medal + Finisher Tee Coupon and (2) Finisher Tee was bad, bad, bad.
* No proper announcement that runners must collect the medal & coupon or cannot collect Finisher Tee. Quite a number around me had to reverse back after queuing more than 10mins for Tee when they were told they need the coupon that comes with Medal before the 100Plus.
* Took me almost 24mins from finishing to getting my Tee.

Lastly, I probably won't have a timing since no Beep when I passed under both gantry incl Finish Line. I supposed my fault as I forgot to make sure my bib with timing wire was not bent. Sad :(

But otherwise, the run itself was alright. It was quite a hot day and I had some sunstroke. After an afternoon nap, still got headache now

Endomondo & Stopwatch (exclude 100m before Start line): Distance: 10.41km in 1hr 21mins. Average pace of 7mins 47secs. Satisfied with my timing.
