Finally > 10km

Have not run 10km since PAssion run on 8 June, not to mention >10km. But I really wanted to do it quite badly.

Well, I started slow and picked up speed. Mindful I wanted to do at least 10km. At 6:16am, I started. Completed the first 7km loop and started on the 5km loop. At 10km mark, I managed in 1:14:47 which was pretty 'fast' (based on my standard). Finally, I finished the 12km in good time and happy I ran this morning. Slight -ve split and not cramp but battled stitches along the way.

Must say I nearly got run over by a gold colored sedan this morning. Was about the cross a pedestrian crossing. I glanced over my right shoulder, about 30degree glance. Didn't see any car and continued towards the pedestrian crossing. Suddenly a car went pass right in front of me, slightly more than 1 arms length away. I jammed brake by planting my right foot down on the slight slope leading down to the pedestrian corssing, the car continued left w/o stopping at all. #$$%^%**^!! Silly driver. Does he not realise it was a pedestrian crossing and there was a runner going down and almost reaching the road!!!! Sometimes, I wonder if my life is worth it. If I was a faster runner, would probably have been hurt.

Apart from above, was happy with my run. My Mrs started on her own at 7pm and did 6km. A great effort.

10km: 1:14:47 (7.50min/km)
12km: 1:28:20 (7.33min/km)
