I think I overstretched at home before I started my run. The moment I started my slow jog, I felt the back of my right thigh very tight and also my right knee was not comfortable. Anyway, I decided to persevere on with the discomfort and slight pain.
Did my 5km in 38min 5secs. A 7min 37sec per km pace. Much faster than I expected since I was targeting 8min/km pace. I tried too hard in the last 2km even though I was exhausted and breathing heavily and tired before 3km mark. Fitness level really needs work and I now have less than 1 month before the Newton Active Run 10km. I don't think home ground will be any advantage for me in this case :)
